Si Sa Ket
The sleepy province of Si Sa Ket lies on the Cambodian border. A number of Khmer ruins are located throughout the province, the most famous being Wat Sa Kamphaeng Yai and Noi which date as far back as the 10th century. Just across the border in Cambodia lies Khao Phra Wihan, an Angkor era temple complex which is currently undergoing restoration. The exquisite craftsmanship and complex designs are remarkable examples of the architecture of the region.
Si Sa Ket has an area of 8,840 square kilometers, comprising the following districts: Muang Si Sa Ket, Kanthararom, Kantharalak, Khun Han, Phrai Bung, Khukhan, Prang Ku, Uthumphon Phisai, Rasi Salai, Yang Chum Noi, Huai Thap Than, Non Khun, Si Rattana, Wang Hin, Bueng Bun, Nam Kliang, Phu Sing, Benchalak, Muang Chan, Pho Si Suwan and Sila Lat.
