Phichit

Phichit is located between the Yom and Nan rivers, about 345 kilometers from Bangkok. Home to a civilization begun nearly 1,000 years ago, Phichit has an important place in the histories of Sukhothai and Ayutthaya. It is easily reached by rail or road.
The province is home to a number of fresh-water crocodile farms, and the region is known across Thailand as “the land of crocodiles.” It is also the setting for the Thai legend of Krai Thong, a brave crocodile hunter who saves the people of Phichit from the monster Chalawa.
Phichit is divided into the following districts: Muang, Pho Prathap Chang, Taphan hin, Bang Mun Nak, Pho Thale, Sam Ngam, Wang Sai Phun, Thap Khlo, Sak Lek, Dong Charoen, Bueng Na Rang and Wachirabarami.
