Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

What :

Khao Phanom Bencha National Park spreads some 20 square-miles across Krabi Province sheltering diverse wildlife, plants, and a host of waterfalls and cave complexes.

The peak of Khao Phanom Bencha Mountain is Krabi’s highest point at almost 4,500 feet, and the protected area that runs along the mountain spine was designated Thailand’s 30th national park in the 1980s.

The 11-tiers of Huay To Waterfalls course through the dense foliage of the park before collecting in a swimmable pool just a few hundred feet past the park headquarters. From Huay To, well marked trails lead to the dramatic Huay Sadeh and Khong Haeng Falls.

The limestone formations in Khao Phanom Bencha National Park have been eroded by centuries of rain forming numerous caves to explore. Tham Pheung Cave’s dramatically glistening stalactites and stalagmites are a stunning sight for travelers on luxury tours of Thailand. The glittering white walls and stone formations vary in shape, some of which resemble mushrooms or even pagoda-like structures.

The dense jungle canopy is teeming with birdlife throughout the year. White-crowned hornbills, numerous pheasants, and eagles are among the over 200 bird species that call the park home. Below the tree branches tapirs, Sumatran serows, and Asiatic black bears roam the forest floor waiting to be spotted by guests on tours of Thailand.

When :

Khao Phanom Bencha’s best weather is between November and January. Rain fall from May to October make the park and its numerous falls particularly beautiful, and the highest temperatures run from February through April.

Where :

Khao Phanom Bencha lies just outside of Krabi Town in Southern Thailand. Krabi Province’s only national park on the mainland is best reached by private vehicle from Krabi Town.

Who :

The stunning waterfalls, diverse wildlife, and virgin forests are a dramatic and rewarding excursion for travelers touring Thailand.

Appropriate Attire :

Dress for a hike and bring along swimwear as the pools beneath the many waterfalls are too appealing to pass up after a jaunt through the jungle.

Bruce Goldman -  November 2013

Having a kind aversion toward travel companies, because of my own ability to develop an original itinerary, I was pleasantly surprised at the level of ease and convenience this company provided.

My wife and I decided on a whim to get married and honeymoon in Thailand (since that was her number one destination spot). Not being familiar with that part of the world, and having already run the gamut of a 200 person wedding party, it was in our best interest to hire an experienced company to make our lives just a little bit easier for the honeymoon. Best decision ever.

We reworked the itinerary with the specialist two or three times and probably drove her nuts. Still, they were extremely patient and found us the best deal to suit our needs.

Daily activities planned for us included excursions to important sites such as the Tiger Temple, river boat tours through the canals and authentic spicy thai indulgences (J woop, my favorite!).

So, if you're looking for extra value added to a travelling experience, I would definitely recommend hiring Easy Yours. They know what they're doing.'
