Chanthaburi
Chanthaburi is a scenic province known for its tropical fruit, lush forests, awe-inspiring waterfalls, and small fishing villages. Many ancient communities have settled along the Chanthaburi River and a number of pristine beaches lie along the eastern coast.
During the early part of the 20th century, the French occupied Chanthaburi. This is reflected in the architecture as well as the religious population. There are a number of Christians who have settled in the province, and it is home to the largest Catholic cathedral in all of Thailand.
Chanthaburi is located nearly 250 kilometers from Bangkok and encompasses over 6,000 square kilometers. It is divided into the following districts: Mueang Chanthaburi, Tha Mai, Khlung, Laem Sing, Pong Nam Ron, Makham, Soi Dao, Na Yai Am, Kang Hang Maeo and Khao Khitchakut sub-district.
